Last saturday I’ve hiked almost 23 km and during the hike I decided to go home for a couple of days. A had a blister on my heel which was quite painful, a small blister on my right small tow and different shaving wounds on my feet and hips. Not to make it worse I decided to rest for a moment, which was the right decision looking back at it now.
The blisters are gone and my legs and feet feel al lot better! So I will go back to the trail this afternoon. I’ll walk about 15 km this evening to a camping. It is a nice introduction again to hiking and in this I can start tomorrow morning early to go for a whole day.
Now that I’m home I can take a look at the contents of my backpack. Not that it was very heavy but it is always good to lighten your pack. First of all, I’m not bringing my cooking stove anymore. It is quite some weight that you can save in the gear, fuel and food you don’t have to carry. Dinner can be cold or I’ll buy something at the camping I am staying. The other category I’m looking at is clothing. I already left my hoody behind at my sisters place because I didn’t use it at all. I am also not gonna bring long pants anymore. I haven’t worn it in the first part, except for protection from nature and the weight is quite a lot including the belt. I will bring my fluffy jacket along for a cold evening. The forecast is also quite simple, it is gonna be warm!
