In a previous blog I was thinking about buying a new backpack. At the time I was seriously thinking about buying the Fjallraven Kajka. For me at the time it was a expensive, but a good choice. It is build with a lot of care, good materials and they really had backpackers in mind when developing it.
The last months I’ve been reading more and more on gear. For backpacks, there are a lot of options and it is hard to choose from it. After much thinking I haven’t bought the Kajka, but the Lowe Alpine Cerro Torre 75:100.
So why not the Kajka? First of all, the price. In euro’s it costs 397,- The Cerro Torre costs 270,-. Also quite expensive, but 127,- euro’s less then the Kajka. The second reason is weight. The Kajka 85 weighs more then a kilo more then the Cerro Torre. The only downfall for the comparison is that the Kajka has a big front opening and the Cerro Torre just a small one.
I’ve used the Cerro Torre a couple of times now and I am learning to work with it. Probably I will take it with me on my business trips to hotels to really get to know the backpack.
