As I mentioned before, I’m working right now as an IT consultant. I do like my job! As I described, it’s also a busy job. I’m away a lot and you can have long days. So it’s good (I think) to reflect on what you are doing. Now, for a longer time.
Some people have asked me, why do I want to stay at my job when I go traveling? I like the idea to have something in line when I return back home. The possibility to pick up my life, perhaps do something a bit different. There is always the possibility to quit the job when I want.
A couple of weeks ago I had a talk with my boss. Just a normal talk, catching up with eachother how things are going. After some time I decided to start with the subject of traveling. He was very positive in receiving the news, which felt good. We talked a bit about my plans and when and so on.
Now I’m talking with the Human Resource department to figure out what is possible, and also what’s not possible. I work for a big company, so there are rules for something like this. For example, I have a company car and we have to come to an agreement what to do with it. I would be happy to just turn in the keys and leave it, but the rules are a bit different. Will keep you up-to-date on it!
