It has been quiet for some time now! Not that I haven’t been active. I try to ride my mountainbike twice a week, also now when it is getting colder. I’ve been to Warsaw, Poland for a weekend and to the US for a week for a course. I just didn’t felt to write about it. But this will change for the next couple of weeks!
Tomorrow morning I will be going to the Belgium Ardennes for a 4 day hike. In total the route is 25 km. Seems like pretty easy but there are other factors this time. The weather is pretty bad, the days are a lot shorter now and the height difference will be quite high.
For the last couple of months I’ve been getting different gear. Replacing some gear but also getting new gear so this short trip is a good try out for my new gear. For example, I got myself a Garmin Inreach mini. Not that this is really necessary in the Ardennes but it is a good way to learn to work with it.
This is my Gear List for this trip. Because it is not a long trip I will be bringing some luxury items to make it more comfortable, like a knife for creating a fire (when it is allowed) and a thermos bottle to keep my drink warm.
After this trip I will write some reviews about the gear I got and what my experiences are with it. During the trip I will be posting daily updates and I will be tracking the hike with Strava like last time which worked pretty good for me.
