Friday July 20 I finished the Pieterpad. It was a bit weird coming back to Nijmegen on friday, the last day of the “vierdaagse”. The city was loaded with people and I had to walk for 45 minutes to get home through the crowd.
After getting home it was time to relax but also to take care of my gear. I packed my tent up wet so it needed to dry out. Also the sleeping bag. When you get home of the trail it is always smart to dry everything out, even if you think it is dry. All the clothes went in the machine and in the evening my room looked like an exploded outdoor shop 🙂
The first day at work was a little bit getting used to being in front of a desk in an office again. My “office” during the hike was the trail and the campsites but it is allright, after the fourth day working it is starting to feel normal again.
My feet do feel a bit sore but that is getting better day by day. My achilles heel felt stiff and a bit painful also, but since yesterday I’m doing an exercise for it so in time it will get better.
So what about a new adventure? Yes, I have been thinking about it. Actually, the day after I came back from the trail I started some research for a next adventure! Thinking about getting a packraft, but it’s quite expensive. Also, I want to do smaller adventures that you can do without having a lot of time.
