Yes, it is nice to walk on the Pieterpad trail in nature and listen to the birds and the wind going through the trees. Sometimes the trail will go through a village or close to a road with cars on it. For this I like to have some audio in my ears.
So what do I use for this? First of all, a mobile phone and for music I use Spotify. It is easy to use with basicly all the music you could ever want. I also use the app Storytel for audiobooks. You can listen it for the first 2 weeks for 1 cent! If you cancel before the 2 weeks you basicly got 2 weeks for free! If you have any good tips for audiobooks for when you are on the trail, please let me know!
For getting the music to my ears I have to different ear plugs with me, one for walking and one for in camp. The one for walking is the Jaybird Freedom. The name says it all, it is all about moving free. These are bluetooth in ear with 4 hour battery life and you can connect a small block to it which gives it another 4 hours. The audio quality is excellent for what it is and it will fit the ears of almost everybody because in the package you get different ear shapes. If you are interested, there is a special edition available for about 60 euro’s. The second one are just standard Apple ones for in camp, listen to an audiobook or something like that so you dont need to use battery.
For power, I also brought a powerbank. The xtorm 17000 which gives you enough power for about 4/5 days for the mobile and audio.
What are your experiences? What do you like? It is always good to learn.
