After I decided I was coming back, I figured out a route back to The Netherlands. First I had to get a bus to Kiruna trainstation. After waking up and going to the main lobby I connected again with the 3 men I hiked with a couple of days and they were also going to Kiruna! So we traveled together. We all had some time before the next part so we went into the city and had some lunch.
I had to wait for about five hours and a man from the UK stayed for the night in Kiruna. We found an English pub and we had a few beers, talking about the hike we did.
At half past 6 in the evening I had the nighttrain to Stockholm. It would save me money paying for a hotel and the nighttrain was even cheaper then during the day! It was a 1300 km trip which costed 94 euro’s and I could sleep on the train. I slept reasonable and at 9 in the morning the train arrived in Stockholm. The next train was at 10 in the evening so I had the whole day in Stockholm. After finding a locker in the trainstation for my backpack I went out. I didn’t see a lot of Stockholm, mostly I stayed in the “old city”, which is beautiful. Because it was a sunday and I was there early in the morning, there weren’t a lot of tourists. I found a nice place to have coffee and breakfast and I sat there for a couple of hours, just watching people.
During the afternoon I walked around in Stockholm. The weather was nice and warm and I had some drinks and food at different places. It was a long day in stockholm but is was nice just to be a tourist for a day. At 10 in the evening I was back on the nighttrain to Copenhagen. The schedule of the plain to Groningen wasn’t ideal but I was tired so I spend most of the time just hanging around at the airport. One nice thing happened, a woman was sketching and she asked if she could draw me sitting, which was allright 🙂
After arriving in Groningen I took the bus to the trainstation and went from there to Coevorden, where I was picked up. home to rest, take care of my feet and to make new traveling plans!
