After Sweden I had two weeks of holiday left in the summer, but I didn’t went anywhere. I stayed at home visting friend and family. At the end of june I went back to work, back to the hotels.
Like I said in another post I had plans to go hiking in Belgium and Germany, but this didn’t happen, but other things did! For example, my sister with her family went on vacation to Belgium, at the German/Luxemburg border. I went there for one night, and it is a very beautiful place. Mountains, creeks and beautiful nature.
With a friend I also visited one of the oldest communes in The Netherlands. The commune started in the late sixties (yes, hippies) and still exists today. A lot has changed how the commune is organised, but the principles are still the same. They take care of eachother and the produce as much as they can on their own, like food.
During workdays I’ve been hiking in the evening, small routes but it was fun. Also I’ve been mountainbiking a lot more, crashed one time and I bought a new helmet which you can you also use for climbing and other sports, as long as it’s not too extreme. It is the Kong Scarab helmet.
During the summer I’ve been thinking a lot about my year of traveling. The original plans are still the same and the plan is getting more real in my head, which is a good thing.
